Can FedEx advise customers on duty and tax payments before delivery?

Where possible, we will contact you in advance by phone or email with an estimated cost of Duties and Taxes prior to your shipment being assessed. However, this is not always possible and we are often not aware of the charges levied until after we have delivered your package.

If duty and taxes are levied and not paid in advance of delivery, Fedex will Invoice the recipient or shipper whichever is stated on the airway bill as responsible for the charges.
